Singing PraisesSometimes I get frustrated with the state of this world.

So much death, so many lies.
So much sickness, so much pain.
I often wonder how much longer things are going to be this way…
I know it won’t be too long….
What saddens me the most is that we as human beings have made the foolish choices that led us to where we are now. The vast majority of problems that we have in the world today exist because of our own choices as a society. And the same is true for the choices we make in our own personal lives. In the original song presented in the music video at the end of this post I propose a solution for us all.

People think that freedom means “doing things my way.”

Many believe that doing whatever they want is going to help them hold on to their happiness.
But is that really what freedom is? Are we free because we can do whatever we want?
What if what we want is actually no good for us?
Is our zeal to exercise our free will leading us in the right direction?

It seems to me we had this same struggle in the garden of Eden...

Still today, we are struggling with the very same issue.
It all boils down to choices. Is it “my way or the highway?”
Or can I choose to submit my will to Yahuah, and fall in love what what He loves, because of my love for Him?
Do I trust that He knows what’s best for me? Or do I make myself the master of my life and trust my own direction?
In my personal life I’ve come to recognize that every time I try to do things “my way” I can expect the end result to be totally messed up. It’s very humbling when that happens, and it helps me to realize that maybe – just maybe – I don’t have it all figured out….
Maybe I don’t actually know it all….
Maybe, just maybe I need a Saviour (wink wink)

I’ve come to recognize this:

In the beginning Alahiym created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1)
I have nothing to do with my own existence.
I can’t even breathe by myself or through my own will.
It’s Yahuah’s breath of life that’s flowing in and out of me.
There is “One Alahiym and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:6

Yahuah has instructions for life

He laid out His instructions in a manual for us, and thankfully we all have access to it. Remember that thing called “The Law” or the “Torah” which many people say is done away with? Those first 5 books of The Bible -which have been categorized as “Old” have more golden wisdom inside than we could ever imagine. The word “Torah” in Hebrew actually means “Instruction” or “Direction.” So if you’re having trouble putting the pieces of your life together, try taking more time to read the instructions.

I don’t know about you…

But I’m SO thankful for Yahuah’s instructions.
The Law is not a burden. It was not “nailed to the cross”. So many people misunderstand Colossians 2:14, which says,
“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinance which was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.” Colossians 2:14 KJV
That word “handwriting” in Greek is Chieographon which means “bond” or “certificate of debt.” It’s the debt that we owe for sin that was nailed to the tree – not The Law.  The price we should pay – the death penalty – THAT is what was taken away. We know that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). So because we are all sinners, we all deserve to die. The favourable gift of everlasting life exists because Yahusha died for us. He died so that we wouldn’t have to die. Not so that we could sin! Where in scripture does it say that Yahusha died so that we would not have to follow His Father’s instructions? He came to show us the Father.  Alahiym is one. And if we study the scriptures with understanding, we would see that The Law is liberty, and that the Law is love.
“For this is the love for Alahiym, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy….” 1 John 5:3
“But he that looked into the perfect Torah, that of freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah.” James 1:25
“What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Torah but under favour? Let it not be!” Romans 6:15
“If you stay in Me, and My Words stay in you, you shall ask whatever you wish and it shall be done for you. In this My Father is esteemed, that you bear much fruit, and you shall be My taught ones. As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Stay in my love. If you guard my commands, you shall stay in my love.” John 15:8-10
“And ye shall know the truth and the truth will make u free.” John 8:32

Please allow me to point out:

The scriptures quoted above came from the “new testament.”
Isn’t it interesting how they are pointing us back to the “old?”
Emphasizing the law, the commands, the instructions of the Father….
There is unity in the scriptures.  Remember what we talked about in the last blog post…..
“There is one Lawgiver and Judge, who is able to save and to destroy.” James 4:12

Since there is only one Lawgiver…

I pray that we will understand that there is only one true Law.  There’s not a separate law for those who call themselves Christians, or a separate law for the so called Jews. It’s an everlasting covenant with promises that were passed down from generation to generation. And even though we as a people haven’t kept all our promises, Yahuah has not forgotten HIS promises to us. That’s why he sent His son Yahusha to make a way for us – To teach us and instruct us on how to live and what to do. Our Saviour, Yahusha, did not come to destroy the law or the prophets (Matthew 5:17-20). He came to fulfill- to fill up- what we couldn’t understand. He came to show us who our Heavenly Father really is, and how we can become one with Him.

So let’s walk as Yahusha walked.

Let’s study the scriptures so we can learn to live as He lived. If we would simply choose to follow His instructions, this world would be a much better place.  Regardless of the mess that we’re living in right now, I pray the video below will inspire us to sing praise. The lyrics are taken from Psalms 19:7-14 and Psalms 18:2, 3. I’ve posted the main verses that I used in the scripture box below, but I pray that this song will motivate you to spend more time reading the scriptures for yourself.

Click & Read Psalms 19:7-14

“The Law of Yahuah is perfect, converting the soul:  The witness of Yahuah is sure, making wise the simple.  The statutes of Yahuah are right, rejoicing the heart The commandment of Yahuah is pure, enlightening the eyes The fear of Yahuah is clean, enduring for ever The Judgements of Yahuah are true and righteous altogether More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold Sweeter also than honey, and the honeycomb Also your servant is warned by them,  In guarding them there is great reward. Who discerns mistakes? Declare me innocent from those that are secret, Also keep Your servant back from presumptuous one, Do not let them rule over me. Then shall I be perfect and innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart Be pleasing before You Oh Yahuah, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalms 19: 7-14
